Grower's Comments and General Information:

Hakonechloa grows extremely well in rich, moisture retentive soil. In cooler temperatures it often can grow taller and wider. In warmer temperatures in may not grow as big. Water frequently, especially the first year. It will also grow well in containers if given sufficient moisture. Hakonechloa All Gold is a striking shade groundcover providing 3 seasons of interest in the woodland garden. Slender arching stems have bright gold-yellow leaves that stay attractive from spring thru fall as along as it receives ample moisture. Leaf color will vary depending on light.
