Sun plants that can take full sun (all day);
generally requiring more than 60% of the day in full sun - Page 1

Argyrantheum: Better known as Daisies. With varities in Yellow, White, or Pink, they are very compact and free flowering. Will grow 12-15 inches high, covered with flowers all summer. Great for garden or patio pot.

Ageratum: The Hawaii series is very compact with many flowers with nice green foliage 8 inch plants. Great for borders or in beds. This year we are growing the beautiful blue variety.

Alyssum: the Easter Bonnet series has rich color. Compact 4 inch high plants. Does well in cool weather and bright sun. We grow lavender and white.

Bidens(Solaire™ Yellow): Abundant, small, bright gold flowers all season on well behaved plants. Place in moist but not wet, well-drained soil. Fertilize twice a month in beds, every week in containers. Height: 5-8" Spacing: 8-12".

Buddleia (English Butterfly Bush): neighbors! These three new cultivars were developed in England, and are just now making their way across the Atlantic. Roughly a third the size of other butterfly bush varieties, the English Butterfly Series™ plants are extra bushy and loaded with colorful flowers.

PURPLE EMPEROR™ has large mauve-purple flowers. All three varieties are prolific and fragrant bloomers that will attract butterflies and hummingbirds to the summer garden.

PEACOCK™ has rich pink blooms, and the largest blooms among the series.

ADONIS BLUE™ has deep blue flowers of good size and with a delightful fragrance.

The compact size of these new cultivars is perfect for smaller gardens and the mixed border. They can also be used as a container plant in milder climates. Unlike older varieties, these cultivars will not overwhelm the landscape, and never develop the weedy, unkempt habit so typical of butterfly bush. Now even gardeners with limited space can attract butterflies and hummingbirds to their garden with colorful buddleia. Deer-resistant. When grown in full sun this plant will grow 48-60 inches. It is hardy to -15 degrees. This is a great plant for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds. It is extremely fragrant.

Butterfly Flower: Stratosphere: Plant in sun or partial shade. Grows to 10-20 inches. Plant 8-12 inches apart. Hardy to -20 degrees. Plant alone or in combinations or in the landscape. Heat and shade tolerant plants have snapdragon-like flowers all season long; low maintenance.

Calitunia: This is a brand new plant developed by Danziger Farms. It is the first inter-generic cross between petunia and calibrachoa. It celebrates the positive attributes of both plants. It is easy to grow with an abundance of flowers.

Calitunia® has similar tolerance as Petunia to high and low temperatures. Plants will do better if fertilized on a regular basis with a balance fertilizer. It will require a relatively high moisture level especially in a container, hanging basket or flower box.

Calibrachoa (Million Bells): Looks like a small petunia but it is not. We grow the Mini famous variety which trails very nicely. Plants grow well in full sun. They do not like to dry out. Mini Famous do very well in hanging baskets, window boxes and large containers. They will also do well in the garden.

Clematis: New this year for us. This plant has been around for a long time and breeder's have been constantly improving it. We offer several colors in 7" pots. Clematis should be grown in full sun and provided with an object to climb on such as mail box post or trellis. The plants are covered with flowers by mid summer.

Coreopsis-Moonbeam: This popular perennial forms a clump 1½-inch to 4-inch in height. The daisy-like flowers, 2"-3" in diameter, are yellow to deep gold and may be single or double. They are carried singly on stiff wiry stems with dark green leaves and blooms from June to September. Growth is vigorous.
