Sun plants that can take full sun (all day);
generally requiring more than 60% of the day in full sun - Page 5

Sunbini: also called creeping zinnia Plant in sun or partial shade. Grows to 6-10 inches. Space plants 6-10 inches apart. Hardy to 30 degrees. Use in hanging baskets, combinations, window boxes and in the landscape. Petite, bright yellow flowers on extremely heat-tolerant plants; low maintenance

Verbena: This year we will be growing only hybrid verbenas. We will have many colors. These plants do great in containers, flower boxes and in the ground. They require full sun. They have been bred to resist mildew. They can tolerate temperatures to 100 degrees. They do require a considerable amount of water when grown in containers. We have grow verbenas and petunias in full sun around our deck for the past several years and the have been great. Remember as with all container plants they must be fertilized on a regular basis to insure maximum performance.

Vinca Vine: An especially elegant variety of the quintessential component plant. More floriferous than most Vinca Vines, with green and white variegated leaves and pale lavender flowers.

Vinca - Sun Devil Extreme:Vinca Vitesse thrives in very hot and humid conditions yet also performs well in cooler conditions, making the series ideal for early sowings, extending the traditional Vinca season.

We trialed this variety during the 2005 season and found it to be better than advertised. This is the sunshine Impatient. Do you love impatiens but have only sunny gardens then Sun Devil Extreme is for you.

We will be growing three colors this year mostly in 4 inch pots. Small plants will be ready by Mother’s Day. We recommend buying after Mother’s day when temperatures are warmer and plants will be larger.

Wave Petunias: New to the market in the last several years. They are, simply put, great. They bloom all summer, are heat tolerant, will spread up to 3 feet on the ground. Self cleaning (no dead heading). They do fabulous in baskets. One of the few plants recommended for baskets in the sun.

Zinnias Profusion Mix: One of the finest zinnia to come along. The plants produce single, star shaped flowers up to 2" across. Very tolerant to heat, humidity and drought. Resistant to alternaria and mildew. Grows to 14 inches high and is exceptional in the garden.
